About

What we play is life.

-Louis Armstrong

By The Numbers:

  • I’ve been providing illustrations for architects and developers for nearly ten years.
  • In that time, I have helped almost two-hundred clients develop projects, get projects, or finish projects with my renderings.
  • Those clients represent nearly three-billion construction dollars
  • Those projects ranged from fifty-thousand to eight-hundred-million construction dollars.

A Brief History of Gary….

I was born and raised in Colorado, the youngest of a large family, who’s mother and father kept us all fed with ingenuity and entrepreneurial skills. I learned how to work with my hands; draw things, build things, fix things. I migrated eastward, against a tide of young talent, to get my Masters Degree in Stage Design.

Like a gypsy with a T-square, I designed theatrical productions for numerous companies around the country, from vaudevillian tent shows to full repertory establishments, where they even provided me a place to sleep. But I found that I couldn’t resist the siren call of architecture, so I bolstered my resume and hitched my wagons to an architect that needed auditoriums designed.

I soon found I had a talent for creating more traditional styles of drawings, and thought I might make my living as an architectural illustrator. Now I do just that from my studio in Rochester, N.Y., but I still haven’t given up on those other passions, and I embrace every new and unique challenge.

Important Things to Note:

  • I can’t sit still for longer than… maybe 47 minutes.
  • I am indeed left-handed.
  • I have red-hair (I am a veritable conglomeration of recessive gene traits)
  • I am constantly asking questions.
  • I have a healthy disrespect for authority.
  • I have a pack of long-eared hound dogs, (see my staff post here)
  • I have, what some have deemed “eclectic”, musical tastes.
